Following a governmental decree to relocate the LPG terminals in the Vasilikos area (designated area for the establishment of an Energy and Industrial Estate) the following LPG Companies: Petrolina, Intergaz, Synergas and EKO logistics have created a joint venture under the name of VLPG Plant Ltd which has been approved by the Commission for the Protection of Competition (C.P.C).
Main activities of the company include berth and unloading of LPG tankers, receive and store LPG for customers, fill LPG cylinders, maintenance, storage and distribution of cylinders, and loading/unloading of LPG bulk trucks.
The Plant is expected to handle 32,000 metric tons of LPG for bulk services, 24,000 metric tons of LPG for cylinder filing services and 1,000 metric tonnes of Autogas for cars on an annual basis.
The Plant consists of the following:
- Four LPG storage tanks (bullets) of 1000 MT capacity each plus 1 tank of 100 MT capacity for Autogas.
- Two cylinder filling lines
- Three loading bays for LPG bulk trucks.
- Two pipelines (2,500m) for unloading the LPG product from the Vasillikos Port to the Plant.
- Cylinders maintenance area.
Other Plant areas include: Administration building, Canteen and changing rooms, Parking area for personnel vehicles, tankers and trailers, Fire fighting pump station, Water storage tank for fire protection purposes and CCTV.
The Plant utilizes the import / marine facilities at the port of Vassilikos to unload LPG tankers via the use of the berthing facilities which are connected to the Plant pipelines.
Maintenance of cylinders of 10kg, 35kg and 50kg and other smaller sizes. The Plant maintains all necessary facilities for the cylinders maintenance, whether is this routine maintenance every 5 or 10 years, minor service or intermediate repair.
VLPG Plant will be handling approximately 24,000 MT of LPG for cylinder filling services per annum. The Plant has two filling lines with a capacity of 1,200 and 900 cylinders per hour respectively. All cylinders are checked thoroughly before being refilled and regular maintenance is conducted.
VLPG Plant will be handling approximately 32,000 MT of LPG for bulk services per annum. Bulk trucks will be loaded with the LPG product at the three loading bays available at the Plant.
